Accounting Manager

The Role

If you have an accounting designation and have a passion to improve efficiency then read on. Working with our dynamic and fun team and partners, you will lead our company of 35 through automating our accounting processes. Initially you will personally be completing all of the full-cycle accounting on a daily basis, with the objective of implementing process and technology to reduce the needs for hands-on or manual entries. You will have the freedom to research and introduce change rapidly.  Your contribution to the Executive Team is based on your strong financial analysis of business opportunities, understanding our current financial status and ability to execute change plans.

The specifics of the role include:

  • Responsible for all facets of the accounting process on a day-to-day basis including: Accounts payable/receivable, processing cheques, reconciliations (HST, Visa, Bank Statements, etc.), monitor cash flow, weekly financial reporting, completing all tax returns, filing, revenue allocation, year-end administration
  • Review accounting processes for increases in efficiencies, and rapidly implement improvements utilizing technology and process
  • Support business decisions with financial analysis, including preparation of reports
  • Create, provide and monitor relevant financial reports for staff and management review

The Really Important Stuff:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience full-cycle accounting with a track record of success
  • Has introduced process and technology to increase accounting efficiencies

The Fundamentals:

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to deliver on deadlines
  • A University degree with an accounting designation
  • Intiimate knowledge of leading accounting software and accounting practices
  • Very high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills, including grammar
  • You can use Excel like a master. You are Nero in the Excel Matrix
  • Reliable transportation


Measures Of Success

  • Institute processes, templates and automation that deliver significant accounting efficiency gains and more timely and accurate reporting
  • Lead a regular finance meeting and implement regular, accurate reporting
  • Implement budgeting and managing forecasts
  • Year end filings are completed early with a minimum of adjusting entries
